Typology Final

A series of portraits of my friends' childhood stuffed animals, meant to capture nostalgia and memories. I wanted to challenge the idea of a standard portrait by subbing in these stuffed animals for my friends, capturing the essence of their past and present (using their current beds).

  1. I love the colors and nostalgic feeling of your pictures! The consistency of having all the animals under blankets is very aesthetically pleasing. I also really like how you have the different blankets for each. The second image in is very nice, but next time try to frame it so you don't see the wall behind it so it blends better with the other pictures.

  2. I like the story behind why you shot the stuffed animals. I think the contrast between the sheets that are mostly bland and the more colorful animals was striking but the color in al the photos is quite muted. The pictures feel really genuine.

  3. I love this one, I wish my little sock monkey was in it haha. I think this was all around super creative and cool! I think that the best part is that you said how you wanted to bring their past self and present self together giving us the context of it being their current bed and childhood stuffed animal.

  4. I really enjoy the theme of your project! I look at each stuffed animal and I can tell they've been through a journey with the owner, especially when they're tucked into bed! I like how you made them come alive almost, it would've been cool if every animal was tucked into bed like how the green frog is in the first typology.

  7. This is a very uniue idea, and i think it was put together well. My first thought is how did you have that many combinations of blankets. It came out very colorful and reminds me of the stuffed anoimalls i used to have. It also has a warm feeling to look at especially as its getting colder outside.

  9. I like the humor and sentimentality of these images. From reading your writing and viewing the images it's clear you had a vision for your project and followed through nicely! The consistency of the composition draws the eye to the differences in each image, whether this is the type of stuffed animal, the color, or the background. Because of this it feels like nothing gets left out in viewing the typology.

  10. I love the story behind your project because each stuffed animal represents each friends childhood that they carried with them. Such a creative idea and the color somehow represent childhood and this warm comforting way that they are edited/taken.

  11. I really liked this idea. It's very comforting and nostalgic on top of being very aesthetically pleasing. I like the variation in stuffed animals and beds, the color palate also remains relatively consistent and gives a very memory-like mood. I liked the pictures you chose for your curation, I think it conveys a really nice meaning, having them all tucked into bed.
